It's been a long time coming, but I'm so excited to share my current home office setup! I've teased little sneak-peeks here and there on my Instagram, @madesimplyhome. My fiance and I really needed more functional workspace, and I thought it was time not only for a re-vamp, but for an extension!
It started off as a 3 piece desk, shelf, and a utility cart. This worked for a while, but we found ourselves using the kitchen island as a second work space and that never works out! Luckily we have enough wall-space here to add another desk. I found an IKEA desktop with legs (2 legs only which is all I needed) and simply added it on top of the drawers. So easy! (and only $10 from Facebook Marketplace).
From there I added contact paper to the desktop in a very chic cane webbing design to give it new life. I used what I already had to add function and storage! I now have lots of surface space to spread out and work on craft projects. This area can easily be cleared off to use as a picture taking station and where we pack and ship orders. My fiance and I also run an eBay store where we buy and sell goods! So we need this surface to be versatile and flexible.
For the computer desk, I decided to finally upgrade to a new monitor and monitor stand! Of course, I had to get them in white and it's so aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
I'm so happy with these upgrades! It helps so much to have a second screen and a larger screen for when I edit and work at the computer. The monitor stand also offers more storage with drawers and compartments for my phone, pens, and coffee mug (win!).
I'm also going to link and share more products I use in my home office as far as organization and decor! I hope you got some inspiration from this transformation. Remember, when creating your home office space be sure it works for you. Keep it simple, keep it functional, make it yours!
