Hi #simplelifesociety, I hope you’re ready for more home organization, because we are just getting started. Yes, I am calling you out on 7 things around your house you can de-clutter! These tasks range from small to large, so you can pick and choose where to start and what projects you need done. Since we’re home, why not?
In one of my popular videos, I demonstrate 7 things you need to de-clutter:
Wardrobe and Accessories Clothing, shoes and jewelry Out of season clothing Find items to donate See Closet Clean-out and Organization
Paper Clutter Receipts, important documents, kid’s schoolwork, junk mail Create a sorting system
Desktop and Drawers Create a functional desktop De-clutter drawers of work paper, electronics, stationary, etc. See Working From Home Styling and Storage
Cosmetics (incl. makeup, skincare, toiletries) Get rid of expired cosmetics and products Make a pile you can donate Organize what you keep into categories
Photos and Keepsakes Go through photos, cards, paper keepsakes Gather what you want to keep and organize into an album or photo/memory box
Wallet Remove old membership cards (some can be replaced by phone apps) File or toss receipts Write balances on gift cards
Recyclables Recycle excess paper and plastic bags (start fresh!) Keep only reusable bags and totes that are in good condition Organize bags neatly and limit the amount you keep in the future Remember* Don’t overwhelm yourself! If you tackle too big of a project and expect it to be done in a day, you’ll be discouraged. Take it one step at a time, and prioritize what you need done first. Suggested Materials
