Hey there #simplelifesociety, I hope you are all doing well, staying healthy and indoors. Who would’ve thought that a simple order of “stay home, stay healthy” would change our way of living so dramatically? If you’re not a homebody like me, it can be challenging. But if you are, you see this as an opportunity to get things done around the house, practice self-care and/or simply spend time with loved ones.
Some people have the ability to work from home, are finding new ways to make income online, or are continuing their schooling online! Whichever path you fall in, setting up a place to get work done from home is essential.
Here are some of my tips on setting up your WFM Station:
Designate an area - whether it be an extra folding table, a separate room you can make into an office, or taking over the kitchen table! - find a cozy spot!
Gather what you need - get your laptop, pen and paper, big cup of coffee, phone (or no phone!), and put it in arm’s reach. So when it’s time to get to work, you’re settled in!
Block out time to work - if you’re able, block out a few hours to focus on working at your desk with your to-do list by your side. Breaks are still important - so don’t forget to schedule those in, too!
Keep it tidy - This is important (I swear, it is). An organized space leads to an organized thought process. And when you’re finished working, put everything away neatly.
Visual inspiration - This could be your favorite plant, a mood board, crystals or an inspirational quote. Whatever inspires you to push forward toward your goals, or simply sparks joy.
