I’ve always dreamt of a stylish entry way, but thought I couldn't make one with the limited space we have at our front door. I disliked seeing a mountain of shoes when I walk into our home, and I wanted more storage for our bags and outdoor items.
One day I was inspired to just move furniture around and took my storage cubbies out of my closet and moved it to the entryway. I already had my decor mirrors hung up, and the cubby seemed to fit perfectly.
I re-arranged some of my storage bins, and was finally able to hide and place our bags, house slippers, and outdoor items all in one place. And I already had a foldable storage ottoman I put my daughter's shoes in that doubles as a place to sit.
My favorite part was being able to style the space with artificial decor plants and decorative tray on top. It makes me so happy to see a stylish and organized space I’ve always wanted!!
The best part? I was able to re-purpose furniture, storage and decor pieces from around my home. So this transformation didn’t cost me anything extra!
Here are my five steps on how to create your perfect entryway
Measure Your Space If you have a narrow entryway, use the space wisely. Measure the width, length and depth of the space so you can buy furniture that fits.
What are you storing Gather the items you want to store here. That way you can choose what type of storage or furniture you need to accommodate the items.
Plan a Layout Get inspiration online! Find a layout that speaks to you. Do you want a bench? Console table? Hall tree?
Storage Options Cubbies and under bench storage are great for concealed storage. Find what works best with what you’re storing. *Avoid bulky furniture for small spaces*
Adding Your Personal Touch Personalize the space with your favorite trinkets, greenery, family photos or accent decor. What do you want to see when you first walk into your home?
