For my very first co-hosting event here in Seattle, I teamed up with fellow creatives Stephanie Mai and Cady Zhong for a spring-themed creatives meetup at Sweetgrass Food Co. on Saturday, March 17th.
Having met Stephanie at a instameet (instagram-meetup) May of last year, we finally had a coffee date and I volunteered to help co-host any future events she may be planning. And the idea of a spring-themed event was born! I met Cady at Seattle YouTube day May of last year too, and also scheduled a coffee date later that week (it was fate).
We joined forces to invite our friends, online influencers and creatives to a meet-up where our goal was to bring people together and create genuine interactions and lasting relationships.
Cady of the Braided Babes Club introduced her braid bar, where she created specialized braids for the ladies! Who doesn't want to get pampered, am I right? She's so talented! Please check out her hair product and services to learn more.
I brought my ring light and backdrop to create a photoshoot setup for our guests to take selfies, show off their braids, and take pictures with their new friends! It was a hit. What girl doesn't love perfect selfie lighting? I also DIY'd some photo props (aka gluing flowers to a pair of sunglasses and hashtags to craft popsicle sticks) to make it even more fun! Couldn't forget the fluffy bunny ear props for a spring flare.
I showcased my spring home decor DIYs, along with a video tutorial (similar to what you'd see on my YouTube channel). This was the perfect time for my website/blog's soft launch, and introducing Made Simply Shop and services.
Thanks to the talented duo of A Couple of Moments, we were able to capture the event with high quality photos of candid moments and ring-light snap shots! Please take the time to visit their website to see the services they offer in the Seattle area. They are the sweetest!
We also held a few giveaway drawings! Stephanie provided tea baths from the company she co-founded, Bathing Beauteas. Cady provided a package from her Braided Babes shop. I gave away a Made Simply Co. branded reusable tote bag (first of it's kind!).
Overall, this event was a great experience. I'm so grateful to be able to co-host with Stephanie (@stephanieeedraws) and Cady (@cadycoffee). Thank you to Sweetgrass Food co. for having us and to everyone who came to the event. I had so much fun, I didn't want it to end! Looking forward to more events in the future. Be sure to subscribe to my blog and follow me on social media for updates on similar events.
There are so many beautiful photos from this event, so I will leave some here (click to enlarge). I am so grateful I was able to share this experience with my daughter Kamille (she loved the attention!) and boyfriend Mitchell. Having them there to support me meant so much!
